EXPLANATORY MEMORANDOM
This Act changes the Name of Small and Medium Industries Development Agency (SMIDA) to Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMSEDAN) and effects consequential amendments in the principal Act.

SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE INTERPRIZES DEVELEPMENT AGENCY (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2004.
AN ACT TO PROVIDE FOR THE AMENDMENT OF SMALL AND MEDIUM SCALE ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (ESTABLISHMENT, ETC.) 2003; AND FOR RELATED MATTERS.
ENATED by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria-
1. The Small and Medium Scale Industries Development Agency (Establishment, etc.) Act, 2003 (in this Act referred to as “the principal Act”) is hereby amended as se out in this Act.
2. The Principal Act is amended by substituting for the words “Small and Medium Scale Industries
Development Agency” wherever they appear in the Principal Act, the words “Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria”
3. Section 28 of the Principal Act is amended by substituting for the definition of “Agency”, the definition-
“Agency” means Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria established under section 1 of this Act “
4. This Act may be cited as the Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency (Amendment) Act, 2004.
