EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM
This Act amends the Ports (Related Offences, etc.) Act No. 12 of 1996 by including the operation of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control at the Nigerian Ports.

ENACTED by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria-
1. The Ports (Related Offences) Act No. 12 of1996 (in this Act referred to as “the Principal Act”) is amended as set out in this Act.
2. Section 1 (I) of the Principal Act is amended by inserting immediately after paragraph (i) the following new paragraph—
“(ii) an approved designated staff of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control”
3. This Act may be cited as the Ports (Related Offences etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2003.
