An Act to make provision for the prevention of abuse of the official seal, emblem and name of the World Meteorological Organisation.

1.                  Short title 

This Act may be cited as the World Meteorological Organisation (Protection) Act. 

2.                  Improper use of W.M.O official seal, emblem and name prohibited          

It shall not be lawful for any person, without the  authority of the Minister charged with responsibility for trademarks, to use for any purpose whatsoever any of the following, that is to say— 

(a)              the design in the Schedule which is the official seal and emblem of the World Meteorological Organisation; or  [Schedule.] 

(b)              the designation “World Meteorological Organisation” or any abbreviation of that designation. 

3.      Penalties 

If any person contravenes the provisions of section2 of this Act, he shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of N200, and to forfeit any goods upon or in connection with which the seal, emblem or designation was used.
